The Brooklyn Nets made a big move in their rebuild by trading their star-point guard Dennis Schroder. As the Nets continue to look like they will be on the outside looking in of the playoffs, we could see even more moves before the trade deadline. Let’s look into what else the Brooklyn Nets could be up to in the next couple of months.

Dennis Schroder was the first piece to go. His value was extremely high as he has been playing at an elite level. It could easily be said that he has been the best player on the Nets this season before he was moved to the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors view him as a starting guard alongside Stephen Curry for their playoff run. This season Schroder has averaged 18 points and 6.5 assists per game.

While the Nets have some players that have been playing at a high level this year, it seems that they won’t be competitive enough to make the playoffs. That could mean some of their other players with trade value could also be on the move. There is a list of players who the Nets would likely be willing to move on from for future assets. Let’s look at some of the top candidates.

Cameron Johnson is a player that has elevated his trade value by arguably playing the best basketball of his career this season, especially in the past few weeks. On the season he is averaging 19.2 points and shooting 43.1% from three. He should be a top trade target for a playoff team looking for a wing that can score, shoot, and defend.

Dorian Finney-Smith may be the other top trade target on the Nets. He is a veteran on a young and rebuilding Nets team. Smith has experience with the Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs and with other more competitive teams in Brooklyn. He’s the ideal modern-day-power forward. Smith can shoot, defend, and is athletic.

If the Nets really want to rebuild from scratch they could possibly move their top young player in Cam Thomas. Thomas is one of the top young players in the league but could be a part of the rebuilding process in Brooklyn and be retained, however.

Dennis Schroder may have started the trade train for the Nets. It had been heavily rumored that the Nets would trade some of their players to speed up a rebuild. Now that Schroder has been moved, could we see other Nets’ players be dealt soon?
