The New York Giants season is over. This year did not go as planned as veteran quarterback Daniel Jones was given another shot to show he could be the starting quarterback and the team struggled. Jones was eventually traded in the middle of the season and the Giants ended up with just three wins. The question for the Giants now is what will they do with the No. 3 pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft?

It was all set up for the Giants to get the first-overall pick in the draft. They would have been guaranteed the first pick if they lost their last two games of the season. In comes Drew Lock, the Giants hero and also villain. He had the game of his career with five touchdowns to get the Giants a win in week 17 over the Indianapolis Colts. That win also meant they wouldn’t get the No. 1 pick.

So, now with pick No. 3, the Giants should have their eyes set on a quarterback. It has been said that this is a weak quarterback draft, however. If the top two quarterbacks get taken, Shadeur Sanders and Cam Ward, the Giants would have to settle for the third best. With Carson Beck saying he will return to college via the transfer portal, New York would actually likely go elsewhere besides QB.

A true playmaker may be on the board in Heisman-trophy winner Travis Hunter. Regardless if he plays wide receiver, cornerback, or both, Hunter would be a huge addition to New York. The other possibility is that one of Sanders or Ward falls to pick three. If the Giants like both of the top-rated quarterbacks, they would have an easy decision to make.

The third possibility would be to trade the pick. A player who is rumored to be available is JJ McCarthy, the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. McCarthy was injured before the season even began and he played in zero games. Sam Darnold was better than expected for the Minnesota Vikings and could be their future, instead of McCarthy.

There are three clear options for the Giants at this point that we covered in this one. Which one would be the best for them? We will have to wait and see how the draft plays out. It could come down to minutes before their pick before even the Giants know what they are going to do.
