Nobody saw the New York Mets making it all the way to the National League Championship. They had a historic run and this offseason they should be looking to take this team to the new next level, a World Series title. This team has what it takes and recently made the largest acquisition in the history of their franchise, and maybe the history of the MLB. The Mets signed All Star Juan Soto to a whopping 15-year contract that is worth up to $765 million.

The Mets just barely made it into the playoffs to begin with. From there they made it out of the Wildcard and then upset the Philadelphia Phillies. It was a great run that ended with facing the eventual World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the NL Championship. This team undeniably has talent and that ability to turn it to the next level in the playoffs like we saw this year. Now they add Juan Soto, one of the top players in the entire league.

Juan Soto was coming off of a World Series appearance of his own. He was able to help lead the New York Yankees to the World Series. They lost to the Dodgers. We barely missed out on the battle of New York in the World Series if the Mets had won in the semifinal round. Soto, fresh off that World Series appearance, will offer a ton of offense and experience to this Mets team.

Soto will add 41 home runs and 109 RBIs to the Mets that he put up last regular season. He also hit .288 and has put together some clutch hits throughout his career. The Mets already have some clutch hitters like Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Mark Vientos to name a few. Soto will just make this lineup that more dangerous.

Next season Mets’ fans will have their eyes set on the World Series title. The team has what it takes and now with Soto, they may be one of the new favorites to win it all heading into the summer.
