The Family writes — Beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and colleague Stefanie Frances Lampf Kennedy of Jersey City, NJ, passed August 29 in New York surrounded by her loving family. The cause was a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer. She was 39 years old. Stefanie is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel; three beloved children, Eoin (7), Bernadette (4), and Maddax (1); parents Mark and Shelley Lampf; siblings Carolyn Reed (Chris), Sean Lampf (Sherry), and Philip Lampf; father- and mother-in-law Patrick and MaryLou Kennedy; brothers-in-law Ryan Kennedy and Devin Kennedy (Eliza); many nieces and nephews; and countless friends and extended family members, including Sofi Bertorello. Stefanie will be remembered as a fearless, intelligent, generous, and adventurous woman, admired by everyone lucky enough to know her. Stefanie was a proud graduate of Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she received her B. A. magna cum laude in television, film, and radio studies in 2006. After graduating from Brooklyn Law School in 2010, she started a successful career in law. Even as a young attorney, Stefanie was eminently accomplished and highly respected by her colleagues at Dechert LLP, where she specialized in complex financial and real estate transactions. Stefanie’s passion for travel was sparked by a semester traveling the world at sea, and continued to grow after a year of teaching in China before law school. She loved to travel with her husband Daniel and later her children by her side, sharing countless trips near and far, including many to one of her favorite destinations – Walt Disney World. An avid foodie, Stefanie found joy in searching for the most exciting restaurants and newest cuisines – a pursuit that she shared with Daniel and her children. Stefanie met her loving husband Daniel, a fellow Syracuse alum, in 2010. Their story, shaped by their mutual love of Syracuse sports, was captured by The New York Times when the two were wed in October 2014. They had three children and together made a home known for hospitality, great cooking, and walls covered with mementos from a life packed with love and adventure. Stefanie fiercely loved her family and friends. She demonstrated that love in countless ways, especially through her masterful cooking. It never took fewer than three dining tables to seat all of those who assembled for holidays, including an annual Feast of Seven Fishes, a complicated dinner that Stefanie and Daniel cobbled together in small apartment kitchens years before they found their forever home. True partners and devoted parents, they celebrated every one of life’s moments together. A remarkable craftsperson, Stefanie’s caring nature often took a handmade form: crocheted blankets for friends and family; stuffed animals for her loving children; tee shirts for every family vacation. Always ready to listen and advise, she cared through gestures small and large. Stefanie will be remembered for the comfort, support, and warmth she provided to friends and family both in times of hardship and celebration. It is an understatement to say that Stefanie will be dearly missed by family and friends, who will attempt to carry on her beautiful memory and legacy each day. Throughout this unimaginable time, our family has found peace in knowing there were so many dedicated people looking after Stefanie as we navigated her cancer journey. We are humbled and honored by the warmth and expertise of the doctors and nurses at Englewood Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Weill Cornell, and Columbia University. We are forever grateful for the work of Dr. Christos Stavropoulos, Dr. Lewis Attas, Dr. Kathryn C. Arbour, Dr. Brandon Imber, and Dr. Benjamin Herzberg.
