Malik Beasley to the Knicks after Beating Gambling Allegations?

Malik Beasley has beat the allegations that he was betting on and rigging NBA games for his and his acquaintances’ benefit. These were major career-threatening allegations. A ton of Beasley’s past was dug up as well during the past few months, especially his financial problems. Now, he has been cleared of all the gambling allegations and has his eyes set on signing with the New York Knicks. Should the Knicks take a chance on him?
Beasley is a 10-year-NBA veteran who just had one of the best seasons of his career. He was due for one of the biggest paydays of his career as well until these gambling allegations came out. Apparently, he has been cleared on all charges but that has all but erased his free-agent market as teams have signed most of the free agents already, using their cap space.

The Knicks are the team that is most rumored to be interested in Beasley. If he is innocent, why shouldn’t they be interested? He still may get a suspension from the NBA but it’s unclear right now if he will or not. A suspension would further hurt his market value this offseason.
Beasley signed a four-year deal for $60 million back in 2020. This past season he played for just $6 million on a one-year deal to prove he could still play. He did more than prove he could still play as he set an NBA record for most threes in a season before Anthony Edwards broke it in the final game.
Beasley the player can still play. He averaged the second-most points with 16.2 and shot his highest percentage from three last season at 41.2% from behind the arc. He did that mostly from the bench as he started just 18 of 82 games and played a modest 27.8 minutes per game.
With the Knicks he would fit right in. They need more three-point shooters and Beasley is one of the best in the league. The question is if he will take a contract from them and when he will be cleared to play.
