Can the Yankees Bring New York a World Series Title in 2023?

The New York Yankees have won the most World Series titles in MLB history, and it’s not even close to be honest. However, New Yorkers always want more, it’s in our blood, and this year the Yankees could make that dream come true for fans and residents in the Big Apple.

With 27 World Series titles since the inception of the team in 1913, the Yankees have more than doubled the amount of championships in the MLB over any team. The St. Louis Cardinals are the team that has the second-most World Series titles, believe it or not, with 11.

The last World Series title for the Yankees came all the way back in 2009 and before that they had a dynasty that won four titles in five years from 1996 to 2000. Following the couple seasons after their 2009 title it was a nearly decade-long run of mediocrity for the team. That was until recently when they found a diamond in the rough in Aaron Judge and also traded for the power hitting Giancarlo Stanton.

The key for this team that has won the American League East two of the past four seasons where they also made it to the American League Championship Series has been to stay healthy. It seems that Stanton hasn’t been healthy since he was on the Yankees but as soon as he has appeared to be back to his All Star ways, Judge has gone down with an injury this year.

To win a World Series this season the Yankees will most likely need Judge to do so. Just last year he hit an American League record 62 home runs and had many people betting on the team to win the championship. There are murmurs that Judge will return soon and that could spark a run to the World Series for this team.

Currently, the Yankees hold a competitive record of eight games above .500 but that is only good enough for fourth in the AL East standings and won’t get them a playoff spot. It could be a rampant run for the Yankees once Judge does return and people forget how good and close this team was last year to winning a World Series.

Time will tell if this team can get Judge back to full strength and make a run in the second half of the MLB season to compete for the Yankees’ potential 28th World Series title.
